On the 25th May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force in the UK.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) is a regulation by which the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission intend to strengthen and unify data protection for all individuals within the European Union (EU).

The GDPR require public authorities and businesses to identify the lawful basis for storing personal data, audit information we already hold and take a ‘data protection by design and default’ approach to personal data.

Naunton Park Primary School takes data protection very seriously. In line with GDPR requirements, we have appointed a Data Protection Officer to oversee our approach to data management and protection.

Use of AI 

Our Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

At Naunton Park Primary School, we use AI carefully and responsibly to support the creation of posters, visual resources and teacher planning materials.

All AI-supported materials are reviewed and approved by staff before use or publication. AI does not replace teachers’ professional judgement and is not used to make decisions about individual children.

We do not enter confidential, sensitive or personally identifiable information about children, families or staff into publicly available AI tools.

Our use of AI complies with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR, alongside our safeguarding, data protection and information security policies.
