Class teacher for EYFS (permanent, full-time)
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative teacher to join our friendly, supportive and hard-working team from 1st September 2024. This is a full-time, permanent teacher post. The post is to teach a Reception class, so EYFS experience (either in post or through a training placement) is essential. As a primary school, opportunities may arise to teach in other year groups in the future, so this post is not limited to EYFS practitioners.
We are a two-form entry primary school with a dedicated team of staff, committed to whole-school improvement. In the last two years, we have introduced our Challenge Curriculum and we’re excited to further develop our recently-introduced Early Challenge Curriculum in EYFS. Through Continuous Provision, children in Reception are engaged, motivated and enthusiastic learners who achieve well. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of Continuous and Enhanced Provision and come with a variety of innovative ideas to further develop our curriculum offer, our classroom and outdoor environments and strategies to effectively support individual needs alongside our committed EYFS, pastoral and inclusion teams. The school teaches through Sounds Write for phonics, Talk for Writing, Talk for Reading and Can Do Maths, so experience of these schemes is desirable but not essential as training will be provided to the successful candidate.
We can offer:
- Friendly, enthusiastic and well-motivated children;
- High expectations of children's achievement and behaviour;
- A dedicated staff team who are committed to supporting teachers new to school;
- Experienced leadership and passionate staff within the EYFS team;
- Opportunities for high quality and personalised continuous professional development;
- Experienced mentoring for ECTs in school and through the Balcarras Teaching Hub;
- A commitment to Restorative Practice.
We are looking for a teacher who:
- Is talented and dedicated with recent experience of teaching in EYFS;
- Has high expectations and is committed to raising standards;
- Is committed to school improvement, working flexibly and enthusiastically with school leaders to meet the needs of children across the school;
- Shows dedication to the wider life of the school;
- Demonstrates a commitment to working as part of a team with all staff;
- Is an enthusiastic and imaginative individual who will create a stimulating and vibrant learning environment for our pupils;
- Can manage and organise classroom support effectively;
- Works effectively with other professionals and parents to support individual needs;
- Can lead a subject area effectively;
- Has a commitment to Restorative Practice.
We are welcoming visits to the school so please contact the school office on 01242 513114 to arrange this. If you wish to have an informal chat prior to application, please contact Gayle Fletcher or Lara Hudson by phoning the school office on 01242 513114. Please contact the school (admin@nauntonpark.gloucs.sch.uk) or go to the school’s website (www.nauntonpark.gloucs.sch.uk) for further information about this post, the job description and job specification.
The closing date for applications is Tuesday 2nd April at 8am. Shortlisting will take place on 8th and 9th April. Lesson observations and interviews will be held the week commencing 8th and/or 15th April 2024. Where possible, we would like to visit the shortlisted candidates in their current role/placement.
